Drishyam 3 brings back Vijay Salgaonkar and his family for what is being positioned as the final chapter of the hugely popular franchise. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film once again revolves around the secrets, pressure and consequences surrounding Vijay but this time the stakes are far higher.
The franchise has always worked because it knows how to turn an ordinary family into the centre of an extraordinary thriller. Drishyam 3 takes that formula forward with a fresh conflict, new pressure and some terrific confrontations.
And yes, Ajay Devgn is in top form.
This is the kind of role where the actor doesn’t need to shout or overdo anything. A look, a pause or a change in expression is enough. As Vijay Salgaonkar, Ajay owns the screen and once again reminds you why this character has become one of the most iconic parts of his career.
Drishyam 3 Review: The Franchise Still Has Its Magic
The biggest challenge with a third instalment is avoiding repetition. Drishyam 3 understands that.
Abhishek Pathak doesn’t simply recycle the tricks from the previous films. The story introduces another layer to Vijay’s battle and keeps adding pressure as the investigation moves forward.
The film takes a little time to settle in during the first half, but once the central conflict starts taking shape, the tension steadily rises. From there, it becomes a proper edge-of-the-seat thriller.
There are revelations, confrontations and enough twists to keep the audience guessing.
Ajay Devgn And Jaideep Ahlawat Are FIRE
The biggest high of the film is undoubtedly the Ajay Devgn-Jaideep Ahlawat face-off.
This is where Drishyam 3 really comes alive.
Jaideep enters the franchise with tremendous authority. His performance is controlled, sharp and menacing without ever becoming loud. He brings a completely different energy to the investigation and makes Vijay’s situation considerably more difficult.
Then there is Ajay.
Vijay Salgaonkar is easily one of Ajay Devgn’s most memorable characters and the actor plays him with complete confidence. He understands the character inside out. The calmness, the fear, the calculations and the desperation all come through without unnecessary theatrics.
Their confrontation before the interval is one of the film’s biggest crowd-pleasing moments.
This is Ajay Devgn in full control.
The Courtroom Sequences Hit Hard
The courtroom portions are another major highlight.
The very first sequence involving Prakash Raj, Ajay Devgn and his family immediately establishes the seriousness of the situation. Later courtroom scenes maintain that tension and give the film some of its strongest dramatic moments.
Prakash Raj brings his usual authority to the proceedings, while Rajat Kapoor adds weight and dignity to his character.
Tabu Is Fabulous, Kamlesh Sawant Gets The Laughs
Tabu continues to be one of the strongest performers in this franchise.
Her character is driven by anger, pain, revenge and determination, and Tabu handles every shade with conviction. She never lets the emotional intensity become excessive.
Shriya Saran is also effective, while Rajat Kapoor brings a quiet dignity to his role.
And then there is Kamlesh Sawant.
Gaitonde gets some of the best comic moments in the film. His timing provides some much-needed relief without disturbing the thriller’s momentum. He also makes an impression when the story gets serious.
Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav are decent in their respective parts.
Does The Drishyam 3 Climax Deliver?
This is where the film had the most to prove.
After building the mystery for so long, the climax had to land.
And it does.
The finale has the required tension, revelations and shock value, while also giving the story a sense of closure. It doesn’t feel like the makers are simply ending the franchise for the sake of ending it.
The payoff is satisfying.
A lot more can be said about the final act, but revealing those details would take away from the experience. Go in without spoilers.
The background score also deserves credit. There isn’t much room for conventional songs in a thriller like this, but the BGM keeps the tension alive and makes several key moments hit harder.

Drishyam 3 Review: Final Verdict
Drishyam 3 is a BIG-SCREEN DRISHYAM EXPERIENCE.
It may have a few hiccups, particularly with the pace in the early portions but once the film gets going it delivers the suspense, drama and thrills that audiences expect from this franchise.
Abhishek Pathak gets the franchise’s core right. The writing doesn’t simply depend on nostalgia and the new conflict gives Vijay Salgaonkar another compelling battle.
But ultimately, this belongs to Ajay Devgn.
He carries the film with remarkable control and reminds audiences why Vijay Salgaonkar remains such a powerful character. Jaideep Ahlawat gives him a terrific opponent, Tabu brings emotional fire, Prakash Raj adds gravitas and Kamlesh Sawant provides the laughs.
The result is a thoroughly engaging and entertaining franchise finale.
Drishyam has delivered again. Ajay Devgn has delivered again. And this one has all the ingredients of a BOX OFFICE BLOCKBUSTER.
