Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are back together and this reunion has instantly put Haiwaan on the radar. The Priyadarshan-directed crime thriller has finally arrived in cinemas today, September 11, bringing the two stars together on screen again after Tashan.
The Akshay-Priyadarshan combination is another major reason for the buzz. After Bhooth Bangla and Welcome To The Jungle, Akshay is now stepping into a thriller space with Haiwaan, while Saif plays a character very different from what audiences usually expect from him.
With the film now in theatres, the focus has already started shifting beyond its theatrical run. So, when will Haiwaan arrive on OTT and where can audiences watch it online?
Haiwaan Plot And Key Details
Haiwaan marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after their 2008 film Tashan. Directed by Priyadarshan, the crime thriller is reportedly adapted from his 2016 Malayalam film Oppam and revolves around a murder, a dangerous chase and a mystery that keeps getting deeper.
Saif plays Shyam, a blind caretaker whose life takes a dramatic turn after the murder of retired Judge Pradhan. Shyam soon finds himself under suspicion and, with the police chasing him, he is forced to find the real killer while trying to prove his innocence.
Things become even more complicated when Shyam takes responsibility for protecting Nandini, who is later revealed to be Pradhan’s secret daughter. But she is being hunted by powerful people, putting Shyam directly in the line of fire.
What begins as a mission to keep Nandini safe soon turns into a much bigger fight involving hidden secrets, unexpected twists and a race against time.
Akshay Kumar plays Parshuram, a ruthless killer who is after Nandini. His pursuit puts Shyam under constant pressure, while the mystery surrounding Pradhan’s murder continues to unfold. The confrontation between Shyam and Parshuram forms a key part of the film’s thriller setup.
Haiwaan also adds another chapter to Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s long-running collaboration. The duo has previously worked together on films such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Bhooth Bangla.
The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under KVN Productions and Thespian Films.
The supporting cast includes Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Sharib Hashmi, Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary and Manoj Joshi.
Haiwaan OTT Release Date: When & Where Will The Film Stream Online?
Now that Haiwaan is running in theatres, the next big question is its digital premiere.
SonyLIV has secured the digital rights to the film. However, the makers and streaming platform have not announced an official OTT release date yet.
The final streaming date will depend on the film’s theatrical run, the agreements between the producers and distributors, and the OTT release strategy.
Generally, films can make their way to streaming platforms around six to eight weeks after their theatrical release. If Haiwaan follows a similar window, the film could potentially arrive on SonyLIV around mid-October or towards the end of October.

However, this is only an estimated window and should not be treated as the confirmed Haiwaan OTT Release Date. An official announcement from SonyLIV or the makers will be the final word.
