After a steady theatrical run, De De Pyaar De 2 is all set for its digital premiere on 9th January 2026, streaming exclusively on Netflix. The romantic comedy sequel, headlined by Ajay Devgn, now gets a second life on OTT – and for many viewers, this is where it may truly find its audience. De De Pyaar De 2 OTT Release!
Released in a post-COVID theatrical landscape where audience turnout for rom-coms has become increasingly selective, De De Pyaar De 2 delivered a moderate but respectable box office performance. The film carried a reported production budget of around ₹135 crore, with total costs (including prints and advertising) estimated at ₹150 crore.

At the box office, the film collected approximately:
- India Net: ₹89.74 crore
- India Gross: ₹105.89 crore
- Overseas Gross: ₹23.15 crore
- Worldwide Gross: ~₹129 crore (with some sources pegging it slightly lower)
While these numbers didn’t place the film among the year’s biggest blockbusters, they were strong enough to ensure financial safety. Thanks to solid returns from digital, satellite, and music rights, the makers reportedly recovered over 80% of their total investment, allowing the film to be declared a financially safe – and even profitable – venture.
In fact, De De Pyaar De 2 went on to become the second-highest-grossing romantic film of 2025 in India, a notable achievement given the genre’s struggles in recent years. The film’s lighthearted tone, familiar characters, and Ajay Devgn’s dependable screen presence helped it maintain steady footfalls rather than burning out early.
Now, with its Netflix release, the sequel is expected to reach a much wider audience, particularly younger viewers and families who may have skipped it in theatres. Romantic comedies have historically performed well on streaming, and De De Pyaar De 2 fits perfectly into the comfort-watch category.
Sometimes, success isn’t about explosive box office numbers –
it’s about longevity, reach, and timing.
And for De De Pyaar De 2, the Netflix chapter might just be where the story truly settles in.
