Aneet Padda’s Shakti Shalini is among the highly anticipated upcoming films, especially for fans of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe. Shah Rukh Khan’s King is also one of the most talked-about releases, making the Christmas 2026 release window an important one for Bollywood.
Both films were initially scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026. Earlier reports suggested that Shakti Shalini could be pushed to 2027 to avoid a direct clash with King. Recent reports now indicate that the Aneet Padda-starrer has been moved to early 2027, with March being discussed as a possible release window.
Vishal Jethwa, who stars alongside Aneet in Shakti Shalini, had previously addressed rumours about a possible delay. Speaking exclusively to The Free Press Journal at FICCI FRAMES 2026, the actor acknowledged hearing the speculation, saying, “Maine bhi sune hain rumours,” before laughing off the reports.

About King
King was officially announced in November last year, with its title reveal arriving on November 2 to mark Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday. The teaser introduced SRK in a striking silver-haired look, accompanied by an action-packed presentation, a special theme song and the dialogue, “Darr nahi, Dehshat hoon.”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action thriller is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. It also marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first on-screen collaboration with his daughter, Suhana Khan, adding another point of interest for fans.
The film remains scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026, and continues to be one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year.
About Shakti Shalini
Shakti Shalini was officially announced during Diwali last year, with its title promo attached to Thamma. The announcement introduced the central character through three powerful descriptions: “The Protector,” “The Destroyer” and “The Mother Of All.”
The film is another addition to the expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which has brought several interconnected supernatural stories to the big screen.
Alongside Aneet Padda, the film features Nana Patekar, Vineet Kumar Singh and Vishal Jethwa in key roles. Although it was initially planned for a December 24, 2026 release, recent reports suggest that the makers are looking at an early 2027 window to avoid a clash with King. The new release date has yet to be firmly established in the reports cited above.
