Pandora is back — and the box office is feeling the impact in full force. Avatar: Fire & Ash Box Office!
Avatar: Fire & Ash has roared to a massive $345 million global opening weekend, with a staggering $257 million coming from international markets alone. That makes it the second-highest studio opening worldwide of the year, trailing only Zootopia 2, and a clear signal that James Cameron’s universe still commands unparalleled global pull.

With this launch, the Avatar franchise has now crossed an astonishing $5.6 billion worldwide across its three films — a milestone very few cinematic universes can even dream of. Fire & Ash debuted as the No. 1 Hollywood opener in every market except Japan, where Zootopia 2 continues its reign.
The international performance is where the film truly flexed its muscles. Across Europe, Fire & Ash collected $109.4 million, opening at No. 1 in every market. It delivered the biggest studio debut of 2025 in major territories like France, Germany, Spain, Korea, and several smaller markets. In China, the film opened to $57.6 million, marking the largest-ever opening for an Avatar film in the territory.
Across Asia-Pacific (excluding China), the film added $60.1 million, topping charts everywhere except Japan. Korea, in particular, turned into a pleasant surprise, delivering the biggest opening weekend of 2025.

The Top 5 global markets after opening weekend stand at:
China ($57.6M), France ($21.4M), Germany ($18M), Korea ($13.6M), and the UK ($11.9M).
Premium formats played a crucial role. IMAX alone contributed $43.6 million, making it the biggest IMAX opening of 2025 and the fifth-largest IMAX debut in history.
In India, the journey has begun steadily amid fierce competition from Dhurandhar. Fire & Ash crossed ₹50 crore within two days, opening at ₹23.25 crore on Day 1 — solid numbers, though softer than previous Avatar entries.
With a reported production budget north of $400 million, the film likely needs $1–1.2 billion globally to break even. But with this kind of worldwide momentum, Pandora’s fire has only just been lit.
