Shah Rukh Khan knows how to make a birthday special for his fans, and this time, he has brought a big surprise along with him. On his 60th birthday last year, the makers of KING unveiled his first look from the film. Now, as the superstar turns 61, they have dropped the film’s first song, Tu Mil Jaaye, giving fans a fresh glimpse into the world of Siddharth Anand’s action entertainer.
Many were expecting a teaser or trailer, but the makers chose to kick off the birthday celebrations with a midnight song release. And it is quite an interesting one. Featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, Tu Mil Jaaye blends old-school romance with gritty action, offering a glimpse of two very different sides of SRK’s character. The track also brings together an exciting musical collaboration, with Arijit Singh’s vocals and Ed Sheeran’s distinct rap style.
Sharing the song on social media, Shah Rukh wrote, “Yeh Daur Ishq ka Naseeb Waalon ko milta hai… Jahan Barood ki Khushboo mein Gulab khilta hai… Of Love and other Battles… This December, #LoveLikeAKing #TuMilJaaye song out now! #KING in cinemas 24.12.26.”
KING’s Tu Mil Jaaye Song Blends Romance With Action
The music video opens with a striking dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan: “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashooka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de.”
From there, the song initially takes a romantic route. SRK and Deepika share screen space against beautiful, scenic backdrops, with their chemistry taking centre stage. Shah Rukh sports short black hair and brings his trademark charm, while Deepika looks gorgeous as the two share intimate moments across picturesque locations.
But don’t mistake this for a straightforward romantic track. The visuals soon take a darker turn, hinting at the underworld and a possible smuggling operation connected to SRK’s character.
The romantic frames are interrupted by flashes of violence and high-octane action. Shah Rukh appears in a rugged salt-and-pepper look, bloodied and at his most brutal, taking on opponents as flames rage in the background. The contrast is striking. One moment, he is romancing Deepika; the next, he is unleashing his violent side.
The video then returns to the couple, offering another glimpse of their romance, along with shots of Shah Rukh flaunting his chiselled physique. It all builds towards an intense closing moment, where the superstar delivers another powerful dialogue:
“Par is baar dil mein aag lagi hai. Ab duniya jalaye bina manega nahi.”
The line roughly translates to: “But this time, a fire has been ignited in my heart. Now, I won’t rest until I set the world ablaze.”

Sachin-Jigar Compose KING’s First Song
Tu Mil Jaaye is composed by Sachin-Jigar, with vocals by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi. The track brings romance and intensity together, matching the contrasting moods teased in the music video.
With Tu Mil Jaaye, the makers have offered more than just a romantic glimpse of Shah Rukh and Deepika. The song hints at a relationship surrounded by danger, violence and larger battles, making it clear that love and action will go hand in hand in KING.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
