What Is Meesaya Murukku 2 About?
Meesaya Murukku 2 follows three generations of a family united by their love for Gaana music and their dream of taking the genre from the streets of North Chennai to the global stage.
The story begins with Gaana Das, a respected name in the local music scene, and his partner, Lakshmi. Together, they hope to bring their street-inspired music into the mainstream. However, their ambitions hit a roadblock when established industry figures refuse to take their musical roots seriously.
Their son, Tiger Siva, inherits the same passion but faces a different set of challenges. Financial struggles, personal compromises, and a changing music scene make it difficult for him to establish himself. Even as he experiments with Western influences and traditional rhythms, street musicians continue to struggle for recognition.
The story then moves to the present day, focusing on DJ Jeeva, Siva’s son. Determined to fulfil the dream that has eluded his family for generations, Jeeva takes on powerful figures in the music industry who favour established connections over independent talent. His best friend, Harshath, stands by him as he tries to find his place in the business.
Things become more complicated as Jeeva deals with personal setbacks, a family tragedy, and difficult relationships. Along the way, he must figure out how to stay true to his music while navigating an industry that doesn’t always reward talent.
Rather than relying on traditional music labels, Jeeva sets out to build his own path by combining authentic Gaana beats with contemporary sounds. His journey becomes a fight for independent artists and a chance to break the cycle of disappointment that has followed his family for years.
Meesaya Murukku 2 Cast and Crew
Hiphop Tamizha Adhi takes on triple roles in Meesaya Murukku 2. The film also features Ketika Sharma, Chaithra J Achar, Ramya Ranganathan, Baba Bhaskar, Karunas, Vidhya Borgia, Harshath Khan, and Yogi Babu in key roles.

The film serves as a spiritual sequel to Meesaya Murukku (2017), Adhi’s partly fictionalised biographical musical drama. This time, the story expands beyond one artist’s journey to explore how a family’s passion for music passes from one generation to the next.
