Fresh buzz is circulating around Dutton Ranch as fans gear up for the Yellowstone spin-off’s premiere — but the future of the series is still up in the air. Executive producer and director Christina Voros recently addressed the big question on everyone’s mind: Will there be a Season 2? For now, she says there’s nothing official in motion, though she’d jump at the chance to keep going with this cast.
Christina Voros on the uncertain future of Dutton Ranch
Voros didn’t sugarcoat it — as of now, there are no confirmed plans for a second season. She told Screen Rant that she wishes she had something concrete to share, but she doesn’t. Even so, her excitement for the project and the people behind it is undeniable.
Despite the lack of renewal news, Voros couldn’t stop praising the experience of making the show. She called the cast “an embarrassment of riches” and said working with them has been one of her most rewarding experiences in recent years.
She specifically highlighted the joy of collaborating with Ed Harris and Annette Bening, noting that with a group like this, you just want to keep exploring where the story can go next. “I could film with that cast of characters forever,” she said — a line that pretty much sums up her enthusiasm, even if Season 2 isn’t currently on the table.

What the series covers
Set about a year after Yellowstone’s finale, Dutton Ranch picks up with Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they try to rebuild their lives in Texas, far from the chaos they left behind in Montana. The series premieres May 15, 2026.
