Farhan Akhtar had announced Don 3 with Ranveer Singh stepping into the role previously played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Farhan had also confirmed that the film was planned to go on floors in 2026, while the first look announcement had already created plenty of discussion.
However, the project has since run into a major setback following the reported fallout between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment.
And that has once again pushed the conversation back towards the biggest question fans have been asking for years: Could Shah Rukh Khan return as Don?

Ranveer’s camp, according to reports, felt that Excel had lost confidence in him during an earlier low phase and had explored other casting possibilities.
Following the success of Dhurandhar, reports suggested that Ranveer also had concerns about the Don 3 script and the level of commitment surrounding the project.
His team reportedly maintained that the ₹10 crore offer was made as an attempt to settle the matter amicably and limit losses for Excel.
The details and interpretations remain contested, but the fallout has undeniably brought fresh attention to the future of Don 3.
