Let’s be a little honest, not everyone wants to watch Hereditary or The Exorcist and question their life choices for the next three nights. This Halloween, we’re not going that deep into the dark pit of horror. Instead, here’s a list of films that will give you the chills, the laughs, and just the right amount of “Oh My God, did that just happen?” – perfect for cozy, spooky movie nights with friends, snacks and lights slightly dimmed. 8 Best Halloween Movies to watch this year:
1.Scary Movie 3 (2003) – If you’re not in the mood for a typical nightmare level horror but still want that Halloween vibe, Scary Movie 3 is your perfect pick. It’s got Aliens, Creepy Kids, and parodies that will have you crackling up more than screaming. A Wild parody that spoofs the big hits like The Ring and Signs; it follows a clueless reporter uncovering an alien invasion and a cursed videotape. Think of it as horror’s goofy cousin who shows upto the party just to make everyone laugh – and somehow still manages to be a lil spooky.

2. Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025) – If death had a sense of humour, it would look like this. The latest entry in the Final Destination franchise is pure adrenaline. It’s gruesome, fun, ridiculous deaths and that classic “you can’t cheat death” vibe is the perfect Halloween chaos.

3. Scream (1996) – Meta, funny, self-aware and full of crazy jump scares. You’ll scream and laugh at the same time in a few scenes.

4. Beetlejuice (1988) – This film turns the afterlife into an absolute riot. when a recently deceased couple hire a “bio-exorcist” to scare away new tenants, chaos ensues. It’s weird, witty and full of Halloween spirit – literally. Creepy & Hilarious with that perfect Tim Burton flair.

5. Ghostbusters (1984) – Who you gonna call? Perfect blend of paranormal and comedy – Halloween Fun for all ages.

6. The Conjuring (2013) – Well atleast one of them needs to have that full horror vibe which will scare you to your guts. The perfect mix of chills and classic haunted house thrills.

7. Monster House (2006) – This is a highly underrated spooky animated adventure film where three kids discover that the creepy house across the street has a mind, and a mouth of its own. This Film is eery enough to give you chills but playful enough to watch with friends or family without covering your eyes. A Perfect Halloween Treat.

8. Sinners (2025) – And the last but not the least, my favourite film of 2025; Sinners. A modern horror gem that feels fresh and slick. when a group of friends’ night turns sinister, stylish direction, spell bounding cinematography, chilling music and tight tension keeps you hooked. Its the best and most fun film you can watch for Halloween.

These aren’t the kid of Halloween movies that will haunt you for life – just enough to make you jump, laugh and grab another handful of candies.
