The wait to watch Ramayana on the big screen is building, but fans who prefer streaming at home have a reason to look forward to its digital release too. The Ramayana OTT release has been confirmed on JioHotstar, where audiences in India will be able to purchase the film separately after its theatrical run.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One will arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, including in IMAX 3D. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English, giving audiences across different regions a chance to experience the epic on the big screen.
Once its theatrical run ends, viewers in India will be able to watch the film through JioHotstar’s dedicated on-demand offering. The platform has confirmed that the movie will be available across supported devices in the highest quality supported by the service. However, the OTT availability date and pay-per-view price are yet to be announced.
Ramayana OTT Release: What Did Nita Ambani Say?
Nita M. Ambani, Chairperson of JioStar, stated that this partnership will help to bring this magnificent adaptation of one of India’s greatest cultural treasures to the masses across the country through JioHotstar.
She described Ramayana as one of India’s greatest cultural treasures, a story that has shaped generations and continues to inspire audiences. Ambani also highlighted JioHotstar’s vision of using technology to make outstanding storytelling accessible to more Indians.
The aim, she said, is to bring the film to families across the country and introduce a new generation to its timeless values of duty, love, courage and goodness.
Why Is JioHotstar a Natural Partner for Ramayana?
Producer Namit Malhotra believes Ramayana deserves to be experienced on the biggest screen possible, especially in IMAX 3D. But he also acknowledged a practical challenge: India’s cinema infrastructure cannot reach every person who feels connected to the epic.
That is where the digital partnership comes in. Malhotra said JioHotstar was a natural choice because of its ability to use technology to connect audiences across India through sports and entertainment.
The idea is straightforward. The theatrical release will offer the grand cinematic experience, while the digital release will give audiences another way to watch the film after its cinema run.
