One of the biggest releases of 2026, Peddi hit theatres on June 4 and marked Ram Charan’s return in a completely new avatar. Co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, the sports action drama opened to impressive numbers at the global box office. While audiences turned up in large numbers, the film received mixed reviews from critics. Much of the criticism was directed at the way Kapoor’s character was written, with several viewers calling out certain scenes, including the controversial “no consent” sequence.
For those waiting to watch the film at home, here’s everything you need to know about its OTT release.
When and Where to Watch Peddi
Peddi is set to stream on Netflix, which was confirmed through the film’s opening credits in theatres. The streaming platform has secured the digital rights, making it the official OTT home for the movie.
Although an official premiere date has not been announced yet, most major theatrical releases arrive on streaming platforms within six to eight weeks of their cinema debut. Based on that pattern, Peddi is expected to land on Netflix sometime between July 16 and July 30. However, viewers will have to wait for an official confirmation from either the makers or Netflix.
What is Peddi About?
The story revolves around Peddi, a gifted athlete from a small village who earns his living through local cricket matches and wrestling competitions. Determined to bring recognition to his overlooked hometown, he sets his sights on the National Wrestling Championship.
Just when success seems within reach, a jealous rival shatters his dreams. Refusing to let defeat define him, Peddi takes an unexpected path and reinvents himself as a para-track athlete. Along the way, he also finds love in Achiyamma, played by Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of a powerful local politician.
Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, and Ravi Kishan in key roles.
