The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards winners have been announced. The Television Academy revealed winners during a special pre-show gala on Sunday September 6 ahead of the main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14.
The pre ceremony saw several popular series pick up major wins. The Academy’s recent format changes have also drawn criticism from some industry veterans particularly over the decision to leave certain categories out of the live broadcast. Still viewers across the United States were closely following the results to see which contenders would come out on top.
Widow Bay emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night taking home multiple awards and giving the comedy a strong start as the larger Emmy race continues.
The winners are being announced across the Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies and the Primetime Emmy Awards with major categories recognizing some of the year’s biggest television shows, performances and productions.
